Stephanie Lapensee////Creator of the CFWHI and Senior Director of Operations

I am a third year undergraduate student at the University of Ottawa in Ottawa, Canada. I am presently undergoing my course selection in the specialised undergraduate degree in International Development and Globalization. I . I do have a special interest in women's rights as will my but i am also very dedicated to learning about the multiple divisions and aspects that relate to human rights and that relates to the work of incredible organisations such as the WHO and human rights watch. Even if i am in my early 20's, i have in the world of non-profit work for over 6 years.

I have done extensive volounteer work with different local and national organisations that work to improve society in it's entity. I have volounteered at a rape crisis center in our nation's capital, helping rape vicitms go through the first steps of their recovery and legal procedures. I have also done extensive research on tropical illnesses and diseases and i have also done extensive research on HIV/AIDS and the pandemic evaluating the social costs of the transmission. I have also worked on a municipal election campaign and provincial electoral campaign as the coordinator for the youth division as well as doing some clerical work.

Four years ago, me and a partner, put together a non-profit organisation that was then called, NieLap Education. I say then, because i closed the door about 6 months ago in respond to the lack of financing. The organisation focused on building awareness campaigns on various issues such as child soldiers, child marriage, women and education, women and health care in the developping countries as well as building multiple partnerships with other NGO's operating throughout the world in order to have a bigger activism impact. We have partnered with ECPAT to fight prostitution in Thailand and Sexual Tourism, we have partnered with 8 Casa Amigas in Mexico, to raise awareness on the situation occuring in ciudad juarez. We have also partenered with multiple american organisations to fight HIV and AIDS, putting a benefit concert together for the San Francisco AIDS foundation. We have also put together various fundraisers for national charities such as LEUCAN which support the fight against leukemia and the canadian cancer society.

To the present day, the country for women's health initiative has all of my pride. This initiative is something great and it will do great things for women all around the world. We have multiple projects that are being put together and various divisions taking form.

I am fluent in English, French, Spanish, German and Italian
